The practice of uniting sport and physical education with positive youth advancement to cultivate future leaders is an emerging field called Sports-Based Youth Development.
At Pure Game this is how we partner with schools. By providing a positive youth development program that uses sport to create positive youth engagement, we can help schools improve student outcomes and decrease negative behavior.
Think back to your childhood school sporting experiences. Was it fun? Did you learn anything? Sadly, many schools have limited ability to offer sports as often as they once did.
Our school partnership program provides schools with physical education and sporting activities during recess, and after-school hours. The school partners cover the cost of the program, so there is no fee for the students. Program investment comes from the school’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) budget.
The LCAP is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities. The LCAP provides an opportunity for local educational agencies (LEAs) to share their stories of how what, and why programs and services are selected to meet their local needs.
Unfortunately, there is still a shortfall for many schools to cover the inexpensive Pure Game cost of $7,000 per year.
This is where you can help.
By subsidizing the annual partnership fee, you will help schools experience the positive benefits of the Pure Game programming.
